Chandiwala Sewa Smarak Trust Society was established in the
year 1952 by late Shri Brijkrishan Chandiwala, who was a true
Gandhian and a freedom fighter. The main aim of the Society
is to provide service in the areas of health and education.
The Society started its journey in education by establishing
Janki Devi Memorial College for Women in 1959. It is located
at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Marg, Rajinder Nagar, New Delhi. This
College has about 1600 girl students and is affiliated to Delhi
University. Subsequently, the Society established three more
institutions at Chandiwala Estate, Maa Anandmai Marg, Kalkaji,
New Delhi. These institutes run Master of Computer Application
(MCA), Bachelor of Hotel Management & Catering Technology
(BHMCT) and Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) courses in affiliation
with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi and are
duly approved by Govt of Delhi. The Society has also constructed
a new institute at Dwarka, New Delhi where it plans to establish
a law College. The Society has also established a Medical
Institute, which caters to the various specialities such as
Eye, ENT, Physiotherapy, Gynaecology, Dental, general medicine
& surgery etc. Eye Centre, Diabetes Centre and Orthopaedics
Centre are some of the outstanding facilities created by the
Society. The Society has, recently, established a state-of-the-art
Sports Centre, which is only one of its kinds and will play
a very vital role in the days to come. The Society has established
a Herbal Garden in Murthal, Sonepat (Haryana).
Chandiwala Estate besides having above facilities also has
banking facilities, Food Court, Auditorium, Guest House accommodation,
hostel for girls and boys and parking facilities. The Society
is also contemplating to establish a residential school up
to senior secondary level in a rural area of Delhi. Certain
more institutions for public good are in the pipeline, which
may come up very soon.
